Negril Lighthouse Historical Photo Collection
This Negril landmark stands at South Negril Point on the western end of Jamaica. The original gallery records that the lighthouse was built in 1894, with a 66-foot tower and a light elevated about 100 feet above sea level. The historic account also notes its thick masonry walls, flashing light, and transition from kerosene and gas to solar energy.
The second gallery preserves views from the rocky lighthouse grounds and the climb through the winding stairway to the top. The original pages also credit transportation to the lighthouse to Sammy's Jamaican Tours.
